TYSIM KR Series Rotary Drilling Rigs Helping Construct Luxury Apartment in Patong Forest, Thailand

In a landmark engineering feat, three TYSIM KR Series rotary drilling rigs—KR50, KR60, and KR90—have been deployed to tackle the challenging terrain of Patong’s forested coastal region, enabling the construction of a high-end apartment and luxury villa complex with minimal environmental disruption. The project, launched on November 27, 2024, aims to complete over 2,200 foundation piles in sandstone and hardened rock formations by the end of this year, setting a new standard for precision and efficiency in Thailand’s construction sector.

Overcoming complex geology in Patong: TYSIM drilling rig enables ecological development

The Patong Forest development, nestled between lush tropical woodlands and the Andaman Sea, is designed to harmonize upscale living with ecological preservation. However, the site’s complex geological mix of sandstone layers and ultra-hard rock—posed significant challenges for foundation work. Traditional drilling methods risked prolonged delays and excessive environmental damage. Enter TYSIM KR Series rigs, engineered to drill 500mm-diameter boreholes to depths of 12 meters with unmatched speed and accuracy.
